Job Description: Factory Manager

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Factory Manager for a leading surgical equipment manufacturing company based in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management within a regulated manufacturing workplace (medical devices/surgical/pharma preferred) and proven leadership in plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end factory operations including production planning, quality control, and dispatch

Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and other regulatory standards applicable to surgical/medical device manufacturing

Manage production schedules to meet delivery timelines while maintaining quality standards

Lead, train, and manage shop floor teams including production supervisors and line workers

Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Manage plant budget, cost control, and resource allocation

Coordinate with QA/QC, R&D;, supply chain, and maintenance teams for smooth operations





Ensure workplace safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment

Handle audits (internal, customer, regulatory) and maintain documentation

Report production metrics and KPIs to senior management

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering or related field (MBA preferred)

Minimum 10+ years of experience in factory/plant/production management

Prior experience in surgical instruments, medical devices, or pharma manufacturing strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, CE marking, USFDA as applicable)

Proven track record in team leadership and cross-functional coordination

Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills
