Job Summary

The HR Manager will be responsible for leading the Human Resources function by developing and implementing HR strategies that support the organization's business objectives. The role will oversee the complete employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, learning & development, statutory compliance, payroll coordination, grievance management, and HR operations.

The incumbent will play a key role in streamlining and digitizing HR processes, implementing HR policies and SOPs, ensuring compliance with applicable labour laws, and fostering a positive, high-performance work culture across all business locations. The position also requires regular visits to the Tarapur Plant and JNPT Site to understand operational requirements, engage with employees and workers, address concerns, and ensure consistent HR practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Management

- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's business goals.
- Partner with business leaders to support workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning.
- Drive HR transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and employee experience.
- Streamline and standardize end-to-end HR processes across all business locations.
- Lead the digitization and automation of manual HR processes through HRMS and other technology solutions.
- Develop HR dashboards, MIS reports, and analytics to support management decision-making.

2. Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning & Campus Recruitment

- Lead the complete recruitment lifecycle, including manpower planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, salary negotiations, and onboarding.
- Develop effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain high-quality talent across all functions.
- Partner with department heads to understand manpower requirements and workforce planning.
- Ensure timely closure of vacancies while maintaining quality hiring standards.
- Coordinate induction and onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new employees.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future business requirements.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with engineering colleges, universities, management institutes, ITIs, and polytechnic institutes.
- Plan and execute campus recruitment drives for Chemical Engineers, Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs), Management Trainees (MTs), Diploma Engineer Trainees (DETs), and other entry-level positions.
- Liaise with Training & Placement Officers (TPOs), placement cells, and academic institutions to establish long-term hiring partnerships.
- Represent the organization at campus recruitment drives, career fairs, industry-academia interactions, and employer branding initiatives.
- Coordinate internship, apprenticeship, industrial training, and summer internship programs in collaboration with educational institutions.
- Develop and maintain an annual campus recruitment calendar aligned with business manpower plans.
- Strengthen the organization's employer brand to attract top talent from premier educational institutions.

3. HR Policies & Process Improvement

- Develop, implement, review, and update HR policies, SOPs, employee handbook, and HR procedures.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies across all departments and locations.
- Continuously evaluate HR practices and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Promote best HR practices and maintain standardized HR processes throughout the organization.

4. HR Operations & Administration

- Oversee day-to-day HR operations and administration.
- Manage employee records, attendance, leave management, confirmations, promotions, transfers,



and separation processes.
- Maintain accurate employee documentation and HRMS records.
- Generate HR MIS reports and management dashboards.
- Ensure effective HR record management and confidentiality.

5. Payroll, Compensation & Advantages

- Coordinate payroll inputs with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs.
- Support salary benchmarking, annual compensation reviews, and reward management initiatives.
- Ensure statutory deductions and payroll-related compliance are accurately maintained.

6. Performance Management

- Lead the organization's performance management framework.
- Coordinate annual and periodic performance appraisal cycles.
- Support department heads in establishing KPIs and performance goals.
- Develop employee development plans and succession planning initiatives.
- Monitor employee productivity and implement performance improvement plans where required.
- Ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency in performance evaluations.

7. Employee Engagement & Organizational Development

- Drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Plan and organize employee recognition programs, celebrations, wellness initiatives, and team-building activities.
- Develop employee retention strategies aimed at reducing attrition and improving employee satisfaction.
- Support change management and organizational development initiatives.
- Promote company values and encourage a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

8. Employee Relations & Grievance Management

- Act as a trusted HR partner for employees, workers, and management.
- Build strong employee relations by promoting open communication and trust across the organization.
- Establish and manage a structured grievance redressal mechanism.
- Handle employee and worker grievances in a confidential, fair, and timely manner.
- Conduct grievance meetings, investigations, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Resolve workplace conflicts and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and applicable labour laws.
- Counsel employees and managers on workplace issues and employee relations matters.
- Monitor grievance trends and recommend initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and workplace culture.
- Maintain complete documentation and timely closure of grievance cases.

9. Learning & Development

- Identify organizational training needs through performance reviews and business requirements.
- Coordinate technical, behavioural, leadership, and compliance training programs.
- Develop learning initiatives to enhance employee capability and career development.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

10. Statutory Compliance & HR Governance

- Ensure full compliance with applicable Indian labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Oversee compliance relating to PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Labour Welfare Fund, Shops & Establishments Act, Contract Labour, PoSH, and other applicable labour legislations.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities, consultants, auditors, and legal advisors whenever required.
- Maintain statutory registers, employee records, compliance documentation, and audit reports.
- Conduct periodic HR and statutory compliance audits.




- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and renewal of licences, registrations, and labour-related documentation.
- Monitor adherence to company policies and HR governance standards.

11. Plant & Site HR Support

- Visit the Tarapur Plant at least once every month to interact with employees and workers, understand their concerns, assess workplace culture, and strengthen employee relations.
- Visit the JNPT Site at least once every month to understand operational requirements, interact with employees, and provide HR support.
- Address employee and worker concerns through regular interactions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Monitor employee morale, discipline, attendance, engagement, and welfare during site visits.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies, statutory compliance, employee welfare initiatives, and HR processes across all locations.
- Build strong working relationships with plant and site leadership to support business and workforce requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.

Experience

- 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, including HR operations, strategic HR, and team management.
- Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, logistics, infrastructure, engineering, or industrial organizations will be preferred.
- Proven experience in implementing HR policies, SOPs, employee handbook, and HR best practices.
- Hands-on experience in streamlining HR operations and digitizing manual HR processes.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR governance.
- Experience managing recruitment, employee engagement, payroll coordination, performance management, grievance handling, compensation & benefits, and learning & development.
- Experience working across multiple locations, including plants and project sites, will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in HRMS applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Travel Requirement

- Monthly visit to the Tarapur Plant.
- Monthly visit to the JNPT Site.
- Travel to other business locations as required.
