- Procure construction materials, tools, equipment, consumables, and other project requirements.
- Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, credit periods, transportation charges, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders after obtaining the required approvals.
- Coordinate closely with site engineers, project managers, stores, accounts, and management for material requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites across Mumbai.
- Follow up regularly with suppliers regarding pending orders and delivery schedules.
- Check material specifications, quantities, rates, and commercial terms before placing orders.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, service, and reliability.
- Handle urgent procurement requirements from project sites.
- Maintain vendor database, quotation records, comparative statements, POs, delivery challans, and other procurement documents.
- Resolve issues relating to delayed deliveries, shortages, damaged materials, and material quality.
- Coordinate with the Accounts team regarding supplier invoices and payment follow-ups.
- Identify alternative suppliers and materials to achieve cost savings.




- Monitor market prices for major construction materials and provide updates to management.
- Ensure procurement is carried out as per company policies, approved budgets, and project requirements.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of construction material procurement.
- Good knowledge of the Mumbai supplier/vendor market.
- Solid negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Experience in preparing quotation comparisons and Purchase Orders.
- Good commercial awareness and cost-control skills.
- Ability to handle multiple project requirements simultaneously.
- Graduate/Diploma in Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction/real-estate procurement.
- Candidates who have established relationships with local construction-material suppliers will have an added advantage.
