Position Summary

The SAS BI Developer / Advanced Analytics Analyst is a core analytics contributor within the Healthcare Analytics & Insights Managed Services engagement. This role is responsible for SAS-based statistical analysis, healthcare research analytics, predictive modeling, and decision-support reporting across clinical, operational, financial, and health plan domains. Working closely with business analysts, clinical informatics teams, and health plan stakeholders, this individual transforms complex healthcare datasets into meaningful, actionable insights that drive enterprise decision-making. The role spans functions including Research & Transition Informatics, Integrated Informatics, Systems Services Informatics, and Health Plan analytics — areas where SAS is the primary analytical engine.

Key Responsibilities

SAS Analytics & Statistical Modeling

- Develop and maintain SAS programs using Base SAS, SAS/SQL, SAS/Macros, SAS/ODS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Enterprise Guide for advanced analytics and reporting
- Apply statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data mining techniques using SAS to generate insights across clinical, financial, and operational datasets
- Conduct healthcare research analytics including study design support, outcomes analysis, and population health insights using SAS
- Perform data analysis, validation, and manipulation of complex datasets using DATA-step programming, SAS Procedures, SAS Functions, SAS Graphs, and Output Delivery System (ODS)
- Build and maintain SAS-based reporting solutions including SAS Visual Analytics dashboards and ODS-driven outputs for executive and operational audiences
- Work with business analysts and clinical teams to propose analytical solutions, conduct proof-of-concept studies, and implement SAS-based systems

Healthcare & Clinical Analytics

- Support claims, pharmacy, provider, member, and population health analytics for Health Plan (PHP) and clinical (PDS/PMG) stakeholders
- Develop and maintain HEDIS reporting, government compliance reporting, and regulatory analytics using SAS
- Support integrated informatics activities including clinical KPI development, performance measurement, and decision-support reporting across provider and health plan domains
- Contribute to landmark health studies and outcomes research initiatives leveraging Optum, Johns Hopkins,



or equivalent healthcare data and groupers
- Support enterprise reporting for HR, Finance, Legal, and shared services functions using SAS and Tableau as needed
- Analyze and interpret complex healthcare data to identify key metrics and transform raw data into meaningful, actionable information for senior stakeholders

Reporting, Dashboards & BI Delivery

- Create visually impactful reports and dashboards using SAS Visual Analytics and, where required, Tableau or Power BI for data reporting
- Extract, interpret, and analyze data to identify key metrics and present findings in clear, business-ready formats
- Apply expertise in measures, hierarchies, data refresh, report governance, and complex visualizations for enterprise BI delivery
- Coordinate and manage data analytics and reporting activities with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and financial domains
- Participate in requirement gathering with business stakeholders and evaluate data as per analytical requirements
- Deliver ad hoc analysis, operational dashboards, and scheduled reporting for enterprise functions including HR, Finance, and Legal

Collaboration, SLA & Quality

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, clinical analysts, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end analytical solutions
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all SAS-based analytical outputs through rigorous validation and reconciliation practices
- Monitor and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for analytics delivery
- Manage client escalations and ensure timely resolution of analytical issues and reporting discrepancies
- Contribute to documentation of analytical methodologies, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain strong communication, problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities when engaging with senior IT and business stakeholders
- Comfortable working in shifts, especially the US shift

Required Qualifications

- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 5–8 Years of SAS analytics and BI development experience in a managed services or enterprise analytics environment
- Minimum 6 years hands-on experience with SAS Base, SAS/SQL,



SAS/ODS, SAS/Macros, SAS/STAT, and SAS Enterprise Guide
- Strong expertise in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data mining using SAS
- Experience in SAS Coding, Reporting, SAS Graphs, Data Management, and Data Mining — ability to validate and manipulate complex healthcare datasets
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases; ability to write and analyze complex SQL queries
- Experience delivering analytics and reporting for healthcare domains — claims, clinical, pharmacy, HEDIS, population health, or regulatory reporting
- Minimum 4 years hands-on experience delivering Managed Data and Analytics programs (Managed Services and Managed Assets)
- Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- ITIL skills:
- Good Experience working with Incident Management, Problem Management processes for the engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor, manage & report service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically

Preferred Skills

- SAS EG Certification or SAS Advanced Programmer certification
- US Healthcare industry experience — HEDIS reporting, government compliance reporting, HCA, claims, or pharmacy analytics
- Experience with SAS Visual Analytics or SAS Viya for enterprise dashboard delivery
- Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI for downstream BI and dashboard enablement
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, CMS reporting requirements, or healthcare regulatory data standards
- Experience with healthcare data groupers and research datasets (Optum, Johns Hopkins, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with EPIC, Clarity/Caboodle data models for cross-functional healthcare analytics support
- Background in agile delivery and collaboration with clinical informatics, IT, and business teams
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, MIS, or a related field preferred
