Planning / Civil Engineering / Architecture or equivalent (MBA/Management qualification will

Position Summary
Role Overview
The Sector Head – Urban Planning & Infrastructure will lead the overall Urban Planning &
Infrastructure practice, providing strategic, technical and operational leadership for the
sector domestically & internationally. The role involves driving sector excellence & growth,
overseeing project delivery, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, strengthening client
relationships, and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of developments in
urban planning, infrastructure and smart city initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen the overall Urban Planning & Infrastructure practice, defining the
sector's strategic direction and growth roadmap (domestically & internationally).
Provide technical leadership and oversight across all urban planning and infrastructure
projects, ensuring quality, timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
Monitor project performance, resolve critical technical issues and support project
teams in successful execution.
Stay abreast of emerging policies, urban development programmes, technologies,
funding mechanisms and industry trends to identify new opportunities and enhance
organizational capabilities.
Guide & drive Business Development team by providing sector insights, technical
inputs and client engagement support during pursuits and proposals.
Build and mentor a high-performing multidisciplinary technical team, driving
capability development and knowledge sharing.
Represent the organization in high-level meetings, conferences and interactions with
government agencies, clients, urban local bodies and development partners.
Develop thought leadership through white papers, technical publications, knowledge
notes and industry presentations, positioning the organization as a leading consulting
firm in the Urban Planning & Infrastructure sector. Shall be active on social media
platforms like LinkedIn.
Promote innovation, standardization and continuous improvement across the Urban
Planning & Infrastructure practice.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 15 years of experience in Urban Planning & Infrastructure consulting,
preferably with leading infrastructure consulting firms.
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large consulting
assignments of master planning, DPRs, PMC, urban infrastructure planning, smart
cities, township planning or technical advisory.
Robust technical expertise in urban planning, integrated infrastructure planning,
mobility, utilities, municipal infrastructure, GIS-based planning and sustainable urban
development.
Well-versed with Government programmes such as AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission, PM
Gati Shakti, PMAY, SBM, UCF and multilateral-funded urban development projects.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and presentation
skills.
Ability to build client confidence, provide strategic direction and drive organizational
excellence.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in reputed infrastructure consulting organizations such as Big4,
Egis, AECOM, Tata Consulting Engineers, Aarvee, SMEC, Stantec, SYSTRA, RITES, Dar Al Handasah, Arcadis, AtkinsRéalis or similar organizations will be preferred.
Pay: ₹3,600,000.00 - ₹4,200,000.00 per year
