Job Summary
The Runner Boy / Hospital Support Assistant is responsible for providing logistical and operational support for the hospital. The role includes delivering prepared food to affiliated hospitals, transporting laboratory samples and blood-related items, assisting with purchase activities, handling bank-related work, and carrying out other official errands as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Food Distribution
- Deliver prepared food to affiliated hospitals and designated locations as per schedule.
- Ensure timely, safe, and hygienic transportation of food.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and receiving hospitals to ensure smooth delivery.
Laboratory Support
- Transport laboratory samples, blood samples, blood units, and other laboratory-related materials between hospitals, diagnostic centres, blood banks, and laboratories as instructed.
- Ensure proper handling and timely delivery while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Purchase & Procurement Support
- Purchase medicines, medical consumables, stationery, and other hospital requirements.
- Collect materials from vendors and deliver them to the hospital.
- Assist in procurement-related errands as directed.
Bank & Administrative Work
- Handle bank-related tasks, including deposits, document submissions, and collections.
- Submit and collect documents from government offices, insurance offices, and other official institutions as required.
General Responsibilities
- Deliver official documents, medicines, reports, and other materials to external locations.
- Maintain records of deliveries and collections whenever required.
- Ensure all assigned errands are completed accurately and within the stipulated time.
- Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Hospital Administrator or Management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Standard pass (Higher Secondary preferred).
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence is preferred.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar field role is preferred.
- Freshers with a willingness to learn may also apply.
Skills Required
- Honest, responsible, and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to travel frequently for official work.
- Valuable time management and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of local routes and hospitals is preferred.
Working Hours
As per hospital shift schedule and operational requirements.
