About the Role

We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to handle legal matters related to real estate redevelopment projects in Mumbai. The role involves drafting and vetting agreements, managing litigation, and coordinating with external advocates and consultants.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in redevelopment / SRA projects, along with the ability to balance legal risk with commercial practicality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Documentation

- Draft, review, and negotiate redevelopment-related agreements, including:
- Development Agreements
- Permanent Alternate Accommodation Agreements (PAAA)
- Society Agreements
- Conveyance / Deemed Conveyance documentation
- Power of Attorney (POA), MOUs, Term Sheets
- Ensure all agreements are legally sound and commercially viable

2. Litigation Management

- Handle ongoing and new litigation matters related to projects
- Brief and coordinate with external advocates, counsels, and solicitors
- Review pleadings, affidavits, written submissions, and case strategies
- Attend court proceedings when required and track case progress

3. Title Due Diligence

- Conduct and supervise title searches and due diligence of properties
- Identify legal risks, encumbrances, and compliance issues
- Coordinate with title search advocates and consultants

4. Regulatory & Compliance





- Advise on applicable laws including redevelopment, SRA, RERA, MOFA, and local regulations
- Ensure compliance with project-related approvals and statutory requirements

5. Coordination & Advisory

- Work closely with business development, architects, and management teams
- Provide legal inputs during project acquisition and negotiations
- Coordinate with third-party lawyers, consultants, and liaison agents

Required Skills & Qualifications

- LL.B / LL.M from a recognized university
- 7–15 years of experience in real estate law (Mumbai-specific experience preferred)
- Strong experience in drafting redevelopment and property agreements
- Hands-on exposure to litigation and court procedures
- Ability to manage and coordinate with multiple external legal counsels

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with a real estate developer or reputed law firm
- Exposure to SRA / redevelopment / conveyance matters
- Familiarity with RERA, MOFA, and property laws applicable in Maharashtra

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
