JOB DESCRIPTION – ANM NURSE (SCHOOL CAMP)

Position: ANM Nurse
Department: Medical / School Health Services
Location: School Camp
Reporting To: Medical Officer / Camp In-Charge / Nursing Supervisor

Job Purpose

To provide basic nursing care, first aid, health screening, health education, and emergency support to students and staff during the school camp, while maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring a secure and healthy camp environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct basic health screening of students and staff as required.
- Provide first aid and immediate nursing care for minor injuries, illness, fever, dizziness, etc.
- Assess students presenting with health complaints and escalate cases to the Medical Officer or appropriate healthcare facility.
- Assist the Medical Officer during medical consultations, examinations, and emergencies.
- Administer medicines only as prescribed/authorized and maintain proper medication records.
- Monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and SpO₂ when required.
- Maintain first-aid kits, emergency supplies, medicines, and medical equipment.
- Maintain individual/student health records, treatment records, and incident reports.
- Identify students requiring medical attention and promptly inform the concerned authority/parent or guardian as per school protocol.
- Provide health education on hygiene, nutrition, hydration, menstrual hygiene, infection prevention, and general wellness.
- Support preventive health measures and infection-control practices within the camp.
- Maintain confidentiality of students' medical and personal information.




- Ensure proper documentation of all medical incidents and treatments provided during the camp.
- Coordinate with school staff and camp management regarding students' health and safety.
- Be available for medical assistance during scheduled camp activities and as per duty roster.
- Follow all applicable nursing, safety, emergency, and organizational policies.

Qualifications & Experience

- ANM qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing/Midwifery Council, where required.
- Prior experience in school health, community health, hospital, clinic, occupational health, or medical camp settings is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work responsibly with children and adolescents.

Working Requirements

The ANM Nurse should be willing to work according to the school camp schedule and assigned duty roster, including extended hours or emergency support when required.

Note: The ANM Nurse is expected to work within the scope of practice permitted by the applicable nursing regulations and under the direction of the designated Medical Officer/competent authority.

Pay: From ₹13,000.00 per month
