Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and logically strong Senior Software Programmer to join our software development team. The candidate will work on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable web applications using modern Java technologies and frameworks.

This role is suitable for recent graduates and early-career developers who have a strong foundation in programming concepts, a willingness to learn, and an interest in building enterprise-grade applications using microservices and modern software-development practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, test, debug, and maintain Java-based web applications.
- Work with modern Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
- Assist in designing and developing microservices-based applications.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Apply object-oriented programming principles and commonly used design patterns.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Develop responsive HTML pages and user-interface components using Angular, ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.
- Use messaging and queuing technologies for asynchronous communication between services.
- Implement application logging, exception handling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Use version-control systems to manage source code and collaborate with team members.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, sprint planning, and daily team meetings.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts,



and other stakeholders.
- Analyse technical issues and contribute to their timely resolution.
- Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and development practices.

Required Technical Skills

- Good understanding of Core Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Knowledge of Java collections, exception handling, multithreading, and basic data structures.
- Familiarity with modern Java frameworks, preferably Spring Boot.
- Basic understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Understanding of commonly used design patterns and SOLID principles.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and client-server architecture.
- Basic knowledge of queuing or messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Understanding of application logging frameworks such as SLF4J and Logback.
- Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one frontend technology such as Angular or ReactJS.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Basic understanding of unit testing using tools such as JUnit and Mockito.

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with Docker and container-based application development.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.




- Awareness of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Knowledge of API documentation tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI.
- Basic understanding of application security, authentication, and authorisation concepts.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices.
- Exposure to Linux commands and development environments.
- Knowledge of debugging, performance optimisation, and secure coding practices.
- Academic projects, internships, certifications, or personal projects involving Java-based application development.
