Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS Network & Security Architect to assess and strengthen enterprise cloud, network, security, and hybrid infrastructure environments. The role involves reviewing architecture, identifying security and resilience gaps, evaluating connectivity across AWS and enterprise platforms, and defining practical target-state recommendations and remediation roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess AWS networking and security architecture across VPC, subnets, routing, NAT/Internet Gateway, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Load Balancers, Route 53, IAM, KMS, WAF, Shield, Network Firewall, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and VPC Flow Logs.
- Evaluate enterprise network architecture including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, proxies, WAF, VPN, segmentation, hybrid connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
- Review firewall policies, routing tables, NAT rules, access controls, VPN tunnels, Direct Connect circuits, proxy configurations, certificates, and secure ingress/egress patterns.
- Assess OpenShift and Kubernetes networking, including ingress/egress, routes, services, network policies, container networking, service mesh, registry access, RBAC, and platform security.
- Review Kafka network and security architecture, including TLS, authentication, authorization, broker/client connectivity, replication traffic, cross-zone connectivity, failover, and DR.
- Assess Oracle connectivity and security, including listener access, network paths, encryption, firewall rules, Data Guard, backup/replication traffic, performance dependencies,
and DR readiness.
- Evaluate Zero Trust, least privilege, secrets management, certificate lifecycle, encryption, vulnerability management, threat detection, and audit logging.
- Analyze monitoring and observability across network devices, firewalls, load balancers, cloud services, containers, databases, messaging platforms, and SIEM solutions.
- Assess HA, DR, RTO/RPO, redundancy, failover, route convergence, backup connectivity, capacity, latency, throughput, and operational resilience.
- Review infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
- Analyze architecture diagrams, network flows, firewall exports, routing tables, security policies, operational dashboards, incidents, change records, and runbooks.
- Prepare security findings, risk registers, traffic-flow maps, dependency maps, maturity assessments, target-state architecture, and prioritized remediation roadmaps.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, application, database, DevOps, and platform teams to communicate risks and recommendations.
Preferred Experience
- AWS certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty, AWS Security – Specialty, or AWS Solutions Architect.
- CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, cloud-native networking, and container security.
- Exposure to application modernization, migration assessments, network segmentation, security posture assessments, cloud readiness, or application portfolio rationalization.
- Experience with enterprise SIEM, observability, vulnerability management, and network monitoring platforms.
