1. Role Overview
The Primary & Middle School Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons for students in Grades 1–8.
The ideal candidate should be able to:
- Build strong conceptual foundations.
- Explain difficult concepts in an age-appropriate manner.
- Adapt teaching strategies according to individual learning needs.
- Make lessons interactive and application-oriented.
- Monitor student progress systematically.
- Identify learning gaps and address them through targeted intervention.
- Encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and communicate confidently.
- Maintain high academic and professional standards.
This role is particularly suited to teachers who believe that teaching is not simply completing chapters—it is helping students understand, apply, question, and grow.
2. Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Classroom Delivery. The teacher will:
- Plan and conduct structured lessons according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Deliver engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate lessons.
- Explain concepts using examples, demonstrations, activities, visuals, questioning, and real-world applications.
- Break complex concepts into manageable learning steps.
- Encourage active participation rather than passive memorisation.
- Use questioning techniques to assess understanding during lessons.
- Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and learning routines.
- Ensure that students remain focused and actively involved.
- Provide sufficient opportunities for practice, application, and independent thinking.
- Adjust the pace of instruction based on student comprehension.
3. Subject-Specific Responsibilities
Depending on the teacher's specialisation, responsibilities may include teaching:

4. Lesson Planning
The teacher will be expected to prepare lessons with clear academic objectives.
Each lesson should ideally include:

5. Student Assessment & Progress Tracking
Teachers will be responsible for regularly monitoring student performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting formative assessments.
- Checking classwork and assignments.
- Identifying recurring errors and misconceptions.
- Conducting periodic assessments where required.
- Maintaining student performance records.
- Tracking improvement over time.
- Providing constructive academic feedback.
- Identifying students requiring additional support.
- Designing remedial or reinforcement activities.
- Sharing meaningful progress updates with the Academic Head.
Assessment should focus not only on marks but also on:

The teacher is therefore expected to:

9. Communication & Feedback

- Highlighting improvement and achievements.
- Providing specific recommendations for student development.
- Attending academic meetings and teacher discussions when required.
Where parent communication is part of the role, teachers must communicate in a professional, respectful, factual, and solution-oriented manner.

The selected teacher is expected to:
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Come prepared for every class.
- Follow Ekam-In's academic guidelines.
- Meet lesson-planning and assessment deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
- Maintain professional boundaries with students.
- Respect institutional policies.
- Participate in training and professional development.
- Maintain appropriate professional conduct at all times.
11. Child Safety & Safeguarding
Student safety is a non-negotiable priority at Ekam-In.
The teacher must:
- Maintain appropriate qualified boundaries with students.
- Follow all child-safeguarding and institutional policies.
- Immediately report concerns regarding student safety or wellbeing through the appropriate institutional channel.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive student information.
- Avoid inappropriate communication or interactions with students.
- Follow all applicable child-protection requirements and academy protocols.

Teachers may also be expected to contribute to the development of:

Teachers who can independently develop high-quality, curriculum-aligned learning resources will be preferred.
13. QualificationsEssential
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or education.
- Strong subject knowledge.
- Good command of English.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with children in the Primary/Middle School age group.
- Good classroom-management skills.
- Basic digital literacy.
Preferred
- B.Ed. / equivalent teaching qualification.
- Prior teaching experience in Grades 1–8.
- Experience with CBSE, ICSE, ISC, Common Core,
or international curricula.
- Experience teaching international students.
- Experience with online teaching.
- Experience developing worksheets and assessments.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
14. ExperiencePreferred Experience
Primary Teacher: 1–3+ years of relevant teaching experience.
Middle School Teacher: 2–5+ years of relevant teaching experience.
However, exceptional candidates with strong subject knowledge, communication skills, and demonstrated teaching ability may also be considered.
