Position: Horticulture Supervisor / Jr. Horticulturist
Experience: 3–6 years in horticulture, landscaping, garden maintenance, or a related field
Preferred Supervisory Experience: Minimum 1–2 years
Qualification: Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Management, or a related field
Job Summary:
The Horticulture Supervisor will be responsible for supervising day-to-day horticulture, landscape maintenance, plantation, irrigation, nursery, and garden development activities. The candidate should be capable of leading a team, planning daily activities, ensuring plant health, managing resources, and maintaining high-quality landscape standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily horticulture and landscape maintenance activities.
- Lead, train, and monitor gardeners and horticulture staff.
- Plan and supervise plantation, transplantation, pruning, lawn, shrub, tree, and seasonal flower activities.
- Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Ensure proper irrigation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Supervise the application of fertilizers, compost, pesticides, and other plant protection treatments as per safety guidelines.
- Maintain nurseries, lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas.
- Conduct regular site inspections and recommend corrective/improvement measures.
- Maintain records of plant inventory, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, equipment, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with procurement for plants, seeds, fertilizers, tools, irrigation materials, and other horticulture requirements.
- Ensure proper and safe use of gardening tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Implement water conservation and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work reports, manpower deployment plans, and activity schedules.
- Coordinate with site/project teams for landscaping projects and special events.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards are maintained at site.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, flowering plants, and turf management.
- Practical knowledge of irrigation systems and water management.
- Good understanding of fertilizers, soil nutrition, pesticides, and plant protection.
- Ability to identify and address plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Strong leadership and manpower management skills.
- Ability to prepare daily work schedules and effectively allocate manpower.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and horticulture record keeping.
- Positive communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of sustainable and water-efficient landscape practices.
- Safety awareness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Candidates with relevant experience in large-scale landscape maintenance, industrial campuses, public parks, commercial/residential landscapes, institutional gardens, nurseries, or horticulture projects would be preferred.

- Plant health and survival rate.
- Quality and appearance of landscaped areas.
- Timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Effective manpower utilization and productivity.
- Efficient utilization of water, fertilizers, and other resources.
- Reduction in plant losses due to pests, diseases, and poor maintenance.
- Compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Proper maintenance of tools, machinery, and horticulture inventory.
Working Conditions:
The position involves primarily outdoor/site-based work. The candidate should be flexible to work on weekends or holidays whenever required for project activities, special events, or urgent maintenance requirements.
