Role purpose Run the people and procurement functions for the Goa Lab as a single point of ownership — keeping the site staffed, compliant, and supplied so testing operations run without interruption. This is a hands-on generalist role suited to someone who can move between HR and purchase priorities through the day and hold both accountably.
Key responsibilities — HR
- Manage site attendance, leave records, and monthly payroll inputs; ensure accuracy and timely submission to central HR.
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for site vacancies — sourcing, interview scheduling, joining formalities — with central HR.
- Run onboarding and induction for new joiners, including role clarity, documentation, and buddy allocation.
- Maintain employee records, statutory registers, and personnel files in line with applicable labour compliance.
- Act as first point of contact for employee queries; escalate employee-relations, disciplinary, or grievance matters to central HR with facts and context.
- Support engagement, recognition, and communication activities that build a positive site culture.
Key responsibilities — Purchase
- Manage procurement of lab consumables, chemicals, glassware, spares, and general site supplies against approved requirements.
- Raise and track purchase orders; follow up on deliveries to prevent stock-outs of critical items.
- Source and compare quotations; negotiate pricing and terms within approved limits.
- Manage vendor relationships and support supplier evaluation in line with the lab's approved-vendor and quality-purchase process.
- Verify goods received against orders (quantity, specification, condition); coordinate GRN and inventory records with stores/lab teams.
- Maintain purchase records and documentation to the standard required for audits and NABL accreditation
Qualifications and experience
- Graduate; a qualification or specialization in HR, commerce, or supply chain is preferred.
Skills and attributes
- Organised and dependable, able to prioritise across two functions without dropping either.
- Clear communicator in English and [local language — Konkani/Marathi/Hindi]; approachable with employees and firm with vendors.
- Honest and detail-oriented, with respect for records, confidentiality, and process discipline.
- Culturally aligned — responsible, collaborative, and ready to grow with the organisation.
- 2–5 years in a combined or generalist HR/administration and purchase/procurement role, ideally in a lab, manufacturing, or quality-driven setting.
- Working knowledge of statutory HR compliance and basic procurement/vendor processes.
- Comfortable with MS Office, especially Excel; experience with an ERP or purchase system is an advantage.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
