Job Description – AGM / Assistant General Manager – HR

Job Title: AGM – Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Experience: 15 Years
Location: West Tamabram
Reporting To: CHRO

Job Summary

The AGM – HR will be responsible for leading and managing the organization's HR function, ensuring effective execution of HR strategies, employee engagement, talent management, performance management, employee relations, and HR operations. The role will work closely with senior management and business leaders to align people practices with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Business Partnering

- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with senior management and functional heads on workforce and people-related matters.
- Provide strategic HR inputs for business expansion, restructuring, and organizational development.
- Establish and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and systems.

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

- Lead manpower planning and ensure timely fulfillment of critical positions.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment activities across various levels.
- Develop effective sourcing and talent acquisition strategies.
- Monitor recruitment metrics, hiring costs, and recruitment turnaround time.

3. Performance Management

- Drive the organization's Performance Management System (PMS).
- Ensure effective implementation of KRAs, KPIs, goal setting, appraisal, and calibration processes.
- Partner with business heads to identify performance gaps and improvement areas.
- Support succession planning and career development initiatives.

4. Employee Engagement & Retention

- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Conduct employee engagement surveys and analyze feedback.




- Address employee concerns and improve employee experience.
- Drive recognition and reward programs.

5. Learning & Development

- Identify organizational and individual training needs.
- Develop annual training and development plans.
- Coordinate leadership development, functional training, and behavioral programs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and ROI.

6. Compensation & Benefits

- Oversee compensation structures, salary benchmarking, increments, promotions, and employee benefits.
- Ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Coordinate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Support annual compensation review and budgeting.

7. Employee Relations & Compliance

- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain appropriate HR policies and employee guidelines.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on HR-related matters.

8. HR Operations

- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, employee documentation, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separation.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HR databases.
- Drive HRMS implementation and process automation.
- Monitor HR dashboards and provide periodic MIS reports to management.

9. Organizational Development

- Support organizational restructuring and change management initiatives.
- Develop competency frameworks and career progression structures.




- Drive succession planning for critical positions.
- Identify opportunities for improving organizational effectiveness and productivity.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources is preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, preferably with experience in a managerial/leadership role.
