Job Summary

The Assistant Professor will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical education to Bachelor of Occupational Therapy students. The faculty member will contribute to clinical teaching, student mentoring, academic assessment, research, curriculum development, and departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical sessions for undergraduate Occupational Therapy students.
- Teach subjects related to Occupational Therapy, Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Community-Based Rehabilitation, as assigned.
- Conduct and supervise practical and clinical training in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, practical records, assignments, and examination papers.
- Assess students through internal examinations, practical examinations, assignments, presentations, and other academic activities.
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and counselling to students.
- Supervise student projects, case studies, seminars, internships, and clinical postings.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, practical records, and departmental documentation.
- Participate in university examinations, viva examinations, workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty development programs.
- Promote professional ethics, patient safety, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice.
- Participate in research activities, publications, and academic projects.
- Assist in curriculum development,



accreditation, inspections, and other institutional academic activities.
- Coordinate with clinical departments and affiliated hospitals/rehabilitation centers for student training.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department/Principal.

Educational Qualification

- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Candidates should fulfill the eligibility requirements of the affiliating university and applicable regulatory/skilled bodies.

Experience

- Teaching experience in Occupational Therapy or Allied Health Sciences is preferred.
- Clinical experience in Occupational Therapy/rehabilitation will be an added advantage.
- Fresh candidates meeting the prescribed qualifications may be considered as per institutional norms.

- Strong knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory and clinical practice.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct practical and clinical training effectively.
- Good student mentoring and classroom-management skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and current developments in Occupational Therapy.
- Research, academic writing, and presentation skills.
- Basic computer and academic documentation skills.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
