Position description: The role involves leading and managing the mechanical operations of the Blast Furnace department at Jindal Ferrous Limited, a key player in the Mining & Metals industry. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and safety of blast furnace mechanical systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet production targets. This position demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in heavy industrial mechanical systems, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety compliance within a high-demand metallurgical workplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Oversee the mechanical maintenance and operation of blast furnace equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
- Lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and safety departments to align mechanical operations with overall plant objectives.
- Manage budgeting, procurement,



and inventory control for mechanical spare parts and tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to mechanical operations and maintenance.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on mechanical performance, maintenance activities, and project progress to senior management.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and equipment upgrades.
