Job Description:
The Critical Care Nurse at Manipal Hospitals is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the intensive care unit (ICU) or critical care environments. You will assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure timely and effective care for critically ill patients, advocating for their needs and comfort. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate patient records, assisting in medical procedures, and educating patients and families about post-ICU care and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and evaluate patients' conditions and respond quickly to changes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols and prescriptions.
- Collaborate with doctors, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation.




- Participate in continuous education and training to improve skills and knowledge in critical care practices.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.

Skills and Tools Required:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a valid nursing license.
- Robust clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology used in critical care settings.
- Knowledge of advanced life support systems and protocols.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
