Data Modeler with 5–10+ years of experience
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in the Healthcare Payer domain to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support business intelligence, analytics, regulatory reporting, and operational systems. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of healthcare payer data, including claims, membership, providers, benefits, enrollment, and care management, along with strong data modeling and database design skills.
The Data Modeler will collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, data engineers, and application teams to create scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise data standards.
Key Responsibilities

- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient data models.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage.
- Model healthcare payer subject areas including:
- Member/Enrollment
- Claims (Medical, Pharmacy, Dental)
- Provider

- Eligibility

- Premium Billing

- Ensure data models support operational systems, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with ETL/ELT developers to ensure proper implementation of data models.
- Establish naming conventions, modeling standards, and governance practices.
- Perform impact analysis for data model changes.
- Optimize models for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support data quality, master data management (MDM), and metadata management initiatives.
- Participate in architecture reviews and solution design discussions.
- Document business rules, relationships, and data definitions.





Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data modeling.
- 3+ years of experience in the Healthcare Payer industry.
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer business processes.
- Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience designing normalized and dimensional data models.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
