Job Description: A Computer Hardware & Networking Technician in a steel plant manages the foundational IT infrastructure. This involves maintaining plant-wide LAN/WAN networks, troubleshooting industrial computers, ensuring minimal production downtime, and securing hardware from harsh manufacturing environments. - Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, routers, switches, and cabling across the steel plant and office blocks.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix hardware faults (desktops, printers, specialized CNC/PLC terminals) and connectivity issues rapidly.
- Network Security: Implement firewalls, manage user access, and regularly monitor network performance to prevent data breaches.
- Data Backup & Recovery: Ensure daily backups of critical manufacturing and inventory data are performed automatically.
- Industrial Compliance:



Ensure all technology systems follow IT safety rules and accident prevention regulations . [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI in Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance (CHNM) , Diploma, or B.Tech in CS/IT.
- Core Skills: Operating System (Windows/Linux) installation, TCP/IP routing, and network diagnostics.
- Certifications: Certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred for network administration .
