JobProfile:
OverallPurposeofJob:
- Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) for credit portfolio management and credit risk assessment.
- Manage/support credit coverage with moderateoversightfromtheSeniorCreditOfficersforcorporatebankingclientsbasedinNorthAmerica.
JobResponsibilities:
- ActiveCreditRiskManagementofDesignatedCustomersundertheGuidanceofSeniorCreditRisk Managers
- Manageadesignatedportfolio ofUSCorporatecreditcustomers.
- Performduediligenceandscheduledreviewsregularly.
- Analyze credit risk of the designated portfolio, determine accurate ratings, and make recommendationsofaccurateandtimelyratingstomanagementwithsupportfromseniorcreditrisk manager.
- PreparedetailedcreditanalysisandcreditapplicationsinaccordancewithAmericasCreditPolicy, Americas Credit-RelatedProcedures,CreditRules, evaluating theborrowers industry/ business/ legal / financial risks and recommending extensions of credit to management.
- Basic cash flow modeling skills and understanding of assigned industries / industry sub-sectors are required andmaintainmostupdatedknowledgeontheindustriesthroughinternal/externalsources and direct communication with the customers.
- Abletounderstandandassessriskofstandardbankproductssuchasloans,stand-byLC,trade finance, forex, derivatives, and securitization.
- Maintaindirectcommunicationwithassignedcustomers.
- Oversightofcovenantscompliance,facilityduedate,condition/instruction/reportrequired.
- Responsibleforcoordinatingandcommunicatingaccountinformationtointernalauditorsand external regulators (e.g., FRB, FSA, BOJ, SNIC, OCC).
- Ongoingtrainingtoenhancetheall-aroundskillsetsofacreditriskmanager.
- Performotherrelatedfunctionsasassigned.
DealSupport:
- Workwithbusinesslines/productgroupstoidentifyprospectivetransactions.
- Identifystructuralrisksandmitigantsinprospectivetransactionsandrecommend/enhance structuring of deals and covenant in line with policies and procedures.
- Advise credit risk managers on credit risk issues, terms & conditions,
to create the best possibledealwithagoalofimprovingprofitandminimizingcreditcostwithsupportfromseniorcredit risk manager.
- Communicatewithcreditdivisionsregardingratingrationale,facilitystructuring/exposures,and ensure credit divisions are furnished with all credit related information / analysis pertinent to decision making.
PolicyCompliance:
- Ensurecompliancewithexternalregulatoryrequirements(JFSA,BOJ,FRB,OCC).
- EnsurecompliancewithinternalpolicyandproceduresbyunderstandingandadheringtoAmericas Credit Policy, Americas Credit-Related Procedures, Credit Rules, Procedures for Credit Ratings, Manual, and any other applicable pronouncements.
Job Requirements/ Qualification:
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in financial institutions or equivalent, in accounting / financial analysis areas.
- Should have experience in credit analysis of corporates, preferably of North America.
- Solid financial modeling and analytical skills a must.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Masters degree required (major in accounting / finance / business preferred).
- MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Completion of formal credit training is a plus
