About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Software Tester with 3-4 years of experience in manual testing of web-based and SaaS applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating application functionality, identifying defects, executing different testing methodologies, and ensuring that applications meet business and quality requirements before release.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of manual testing processes, excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and the ability to independently understand application workflows and identify issues from an end-user perspective.

Key Responsibilities Manual Testing

- Perform end-to-end manual testing of web-based, SaaS, and software applications.
- Analyse business and functional requirements and convert them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Identify positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
- Execute Functional, Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Retesting, Exploratory, Integration, and Compatibility Testing.
- Verify application workflows, business logic, calculations, validations, and data handling.
- Test user registration, login, authentication, forms, dashboards, reports, notifications, and other application modules.
- Validate user roles, permissions, access controls, and role-based functionalities.
- Perform UI testing to identify issues related to layouts, alignment,



labels, buttons, icons, messages, and validations.

Test Case & Test Documentation

- Create detailed and easy-to-understand test cases based on requirements.
- Prepare test scenarios and test data for different application modules.
- Maintain test execution reports and testing status.
- Update test cases when application functionality or requirements change.
- Maintain proper documentation of defects, test results, and release status.
- Ensure adequate test coverage before application release.

Defect Identification & Reporting

- Identify, reproduce, and document software defects.
- Report bugs with clear steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, screenshots/videos, severity, and priority.
- Log and track defects using Mantis, JIRA, or similar defect management tools.
- Communicate critical and high-priority issues to developers and relevant stakeholders.
- Retest defects after fixes are provided.
- Perform regression testing to ensure fixes have not affected existing functionality.
- Verify defects across different environments and browsers where required.

Exploratory & Edge-Case Testing

- Independently explore applications to identify unexpected issues.
- Identify unusual user behaviour and potential failure scenarios.
- Test invalid inputs, empty fields, incorrect formats, duplicate data, boundary values, and unexpected user actions.
- Think from an end-user perspective to identify usability and functional issues that may not be covered in predefined test cases.




- Identify potential risks before production release.

Cross-Browser & Responsive Testing

- Test applications across major browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari where applicable.
- Perform basic responsive testing across different screen sizes and devices.
- Identify browser-specific UI and functional issues.
- Verify that key application workflows work consistently across supported environments.

Release & Quality Validation

- Participate in application release testing and production validation.
- Perform smoke testing after new deployments.
- Validate critical business workflows before release.
- Identify release blockers and communicate them to the development and management teams.
- Provide testing status and release-readiness updates.
- Ensure applications meet defined quality standards before deployment.

Collaboration & Communication

- Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, Business Teams, and other stakeholders.
- Clarify requirements and resolve functional ambiguities before testing.
- Coordinate with developers for defect investigation and resolution.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement discussions, and review meetings when required.
- Provide constructive feedback regarding application usability and quality.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, and critical defects clearly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3-4 years of experience in Software/Manual Testing.
- Strong knowledge of Manual Testing, SDLC, and STLC.
- Good understanding of testing techniques and defect lifecycle.
- Experience with Mantis, JIRA, or similar defect tracking tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and exploratory testing skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to independently test applications and identify issues from an end-user perspective.
