The Company
Our client is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that provides critical workflow tools to enterprise customers in heavy industries. The company was founded more than two decades ago and has approximately 50 full-time employees, including approximately 30 full-time Engineering team members. Unlike most tech companies of this size, our client has operated independently for more than 20 years and is not controlled by VC or PE investors.
As the Vice President of Engineering, you’ll lead the engineering organization and be responsible for overall product delivery, technical direction, and team performance. You’ll work directly with the CEO to shape technology strategy and support the company’s next phase of growth.
You’ll manage a distributed team of engineers, overseeing development across the full technology stack and ensuring the reliability and quality of the platform.
The client is a fully distributed company. This role is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Ownership: End-to-end responsibility for the design, development,



and delivery of the company’s full suite of web and mobile applications.
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of engineers across software development, DevOps, QA, Design, and Product. Direct reports include Engineering Managers and Team Leads.
- Performance: Drive continuous improvement through solid engineering practices, including code reviews, retrospectives, and clear performance management.
- Hiring: Own engineering hiring strategy, including attracting, onboarding, and developing high-performing talent.
- Strategy: Reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Executive Team to define technical direction, set product roadmap, and align Engineering to business goals.

Candidate Profile
- Education: B.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience: 5+ years of success managing and scaling software engineering teams..
