The roleYou will teach across BA and MA Political Science — political theory, Indian government and politics, international relations and public administration.Postgraduate teaching is aligned to the UPSC/UPPSC Political Science optional , which a substantial share of our students prepare for alongside the degree. That alignment is not incidental: for many students in this region, the civil services are the reason they chose the subject, and the department's job is to make degree study and examination preparation reinforce each other rather than run in parallel.Full-time, in office at Babatpur, Varanasi.Responsibilities Political theory Teach Western political thought — the Greek tradition through the social contract theorists to Marx, Mill, Rawls and contemporary theoryTeach Indian political thought — Kautilya, the reform tradition, Gandhi, Ambedkar, Nehru, Lohia, Deendayal Upadhyaya, and the debates of the national movementTeach core concepts: sovereignty, rights, liberty, equality, justice, democracy, power and legitimacyIndian government and politics Teach the Indian Constitution — framing, structure, fundamental rights, directive principles, and the amendment recordTeach institutions and processes: Parliament, executive, judiciary, federalism, Centre-State relations, and local governmentTeach political processes: parties, elections, coalition politics, pressure groups, and social movementsTeach state politics with attention to Uttar Pradesh — caste and electoral politics, regional parties, and the state's role in national outcomesInternational relations and public administration Teach IR theory, Indian foreign policy, international organisations, and contemporary global politicsTeach public administration — theories of organisation,

model parliament and current-affairs forumsQualifications Essential MA in Political Science from a UGC-recognised universityUGC NET or PhD in Political Science — required for this appointmentAbility to teach political theory and Indian government at degree level with equal commandFamiliarity with the UPSC/UPPSC Political Science and International Relations optional syllabusAbility to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levelDemonstrated capacity to teach contested political questions analytically rather than positionallyFluency in Hindi and English — students come largely from Purvanchal and Bihar, and teaching is bilingual.
