The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all structural steel and PEB components comply with approved engineering drawings, client specifications, and industry standards.
This role requires preventing defects at every stage of the manufacturing cycle, from raw material intake to final dispatch clearance.
Key Responsibilities
• Raw Material Inspection: Verify the quality, thickness, and dimensions of incoming steel plates, coils, and sections against project requirements
• In-Process Quality Control: Monitor fit-up, cutting, drilling, and assembly processes. Conduct welding inspections and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure compliance with welding codes.
• Painting and Coating: Inspect surface preparation (sandblasting) and measure Dry Film Thickness (DFT) to ensure durability.
• Third-Party & Customer Inspection:
Coordinate with Third-Party Inspectors (TPI) and clients to conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and obtain final dispatch clearances
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and material test certificates to ensure full project traceability.
Qualification & Experience
• Qualifications: BE / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience in PEB Manufacturing, Heavy Fabrication, or Structural Steel.
• Preferences: Candidates with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Level II certifications or exposure to NPD (Recent Product Development) are highly preferred
