Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for Offshore Senior Engineer - Piping to be based in Chennai. The incumbent will be responsible for the following listed activities:

1. Responsible for supporting the objectives of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and Information Security Management Policy by adhering to applicable Procedures and Work Practices while fulfilling of duties
2. Carrying out respective piping activities and preparation of deliverables as identified in the Functional Competencies as necessary on their appointed project
3. Signing drawings and documents including reports, calculations and datasheets as necessary as originator/checker in accordance with correct procedures
4. Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc
5. Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and client and projects standards
6. Adhering to WOOD engineering procedures for design safety and adopting safe attitudes towards engineering design and raising features affecting the safety and integrity of the project with appropriate authorities
7. Correct interpretation and implementation of all piping related functions in their appointed area

Qualifications

1. BE (Mechanical) with 8 - 15 years of relevant Offshore experience or equivalent
2.



Gained engineering experience in the Offshore projects working in a project environment for a contracting company
3. Project experience of working in a variety of projects including Greenfield and Brownfield types
4. Sound knowledge of pipe routings and development aspects and phases of plot plans including understanding of other piping design skills such as stress analysis, specifications etc
5. Experienced in working with large teams
6. Experienced in using intelligent CAD systems, analysis software, various design codes and standards as applicable for various types of projects
