As a Finance Planner in the R&D; Business Operations team at our company, you will report to the Manager or Sr. Manager of R&D; Business Operations and act as a trusted partner for delivering financial forecasts to one or more VP-level functional leads. Your main responsibilities will include supporting the on-time and quality delivery of the budget execution process for key R&D; functions, contributing to financial analytics, and ensuring accurate budget projections based on the organizations prioritization of activities. Additionally, you will be expected to collaborate with the R&D; Finance planner, explain variances, and deliver ad hoc analytics within specific areas/categories.Your key responsibilities will include:- Supporting the end-to-end process of budget execution for key R&D; functions- Connecting with functional SLT members to ensure forecasts reflect the latest thinking- Resolving escalated P2P issues- Maintaining up-to-date mapping of transactions to planned activities- Executing quarter-end efforts for accruals and PO Maintenance- Providing feedback on corporate finance initiatives from a business partner perspective- Delivering ad hoc analytics within specific areas/categoriesTo qualify for this role, you should meet the following requirements:Minimum Requirements:- Masters degree- OR Bachelors degree & 2 years of Biotech/Pharma-related Management experience in business operations or financial analytics- OR Associates Degree & 6 years of Biotech/Pharma-related Management experience in business operations or financial analyticsPreferred Requirements:- Advanced degree in business, finance,
or life sciences- Experience working with supported functions in particular- Previous work experience in a financial or budget role- 6 years of work experience in cross-functional teams- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau) and collaboration tools (Smartsheet, Miro, MS Teams)- Fluency in MS Office suite and advanced capabilities in Excel- Experience with enterprise tools such as SAP, Ariba, Anaplan- Ability to thrive in a complex and matrixed environment- Ability to influence others effectively and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)- Robust presentation skills- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities- Strong attention to detail and ability to draw key insights from trends- Flexibility in a changing environment- Ability to quickly meet deliverables on tight timelinesIn this role, you will play a critical part in the financial planning and reporting systems, ensuring the accuracy and quality of budget execution processes for key R&D; functions.
