Nexus Power is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Intern to join our finance team in Bhubaneswar. This role is designed for a candidate who combines a strong academic foundation with practical experience in accounting standards and technical inventory. This is a 6-month, full-time internship with a performance-based chance to transition into a permanent role.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Closing
- Manage all accounting transactions and handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Prepare and publish financial statements in a timely manner, including Balance Sheets, P&L; statements, and Cash Flow reports.
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity to the management team.
Taxation & Compliance
- Compute, prepare, and file tax returns ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Maintain GST-compliant transaction recording and billing.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure strict compliance with local and international financial regulations.
- Support secretarial compliance reporting and adhere to all corporate financial policies.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare budget forecasts and maintain internal budgeting control.
- Analyse financial data to advise management on cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely bank payments.
Audit, Inventory & Data Security
- Audit financial transactions and documents; conduct physical stock audits for technical parts and machinery.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and manage secure database backups.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and secure financial records using Tally and Zoho Books.
