Overview

Seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in concrete and steel structure design, specializing in both sub‑structure and super structure analysis and design and proficient in tools such as SAFE, ROBOT, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, IDEA Statica, and RAM Connections. The engineer will assist with the development, coordination, and quality assurance of structural designs across concept, preliminary, and detailed stages, ensuring full compliance with relevant codes and project requirements while collaborating with teams across the UK, France, and Canada within the GTC Nuclear Current Build group. This role involves multidisciplinary coordination and contributing to safe, durable, and constructible structural solutions for a variety of building types and project environments, supporting NNB projects.
Your role
- Preferably Chartered Engineer or progressing towards their Chartership
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Commercial awareness.
- Team working, being comfortable working in international teams.




- A sound understanding of structural analysis methods and structural/building design including applicable codes and standards.
- Able to identify the key issues/information associate with a task.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ensure projects are delivered to Atkins internal quality standards and processes and industry standards within cost schedule and quality constraints.
- Gather and maintain all criteria to ensure that the work meets all requirements.

About you
- Minimum year of experience in heavy civils Concrete structures – 15+ Years
- Design and FEA Analysis of Buildings, Tunnels, pipes support structures for the plant design
- Design of Seismic Qualification of machinery support structures.
- Experience in any of the software like ABAQUS/ANSYS/Robot etc.
- High level technical report writing skill and report review
- International code - IS, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Euro
