The Opportunity:

Leads a large team of experienced professionals within the tax department who implement tax strategies and policies with a direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results (up to 1 year) of the department. Facilitates and manages the preparation and review of company federal tax returns and ensures the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms. Develops tax strategies and policies that help the business maintain compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations. Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures. Manages and mentors members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement. Communicates and collaborates with senior management to influence and drive tax strategy and decision-making. Effectively influences and persuades stakeholders in sensitive and complex situations, ensuring alignment while maintaining strong, cooperative relationships.The Opportunity

Indirect Taxes to lead and further develop our indirect tax capabilities within the India Center of Excellence (COE). This role will lead the Indirect Tax function for Avantor with a focus on strategy, process design, and risk mitigation, including governance, execution, and continuous improvement.
The role is responsible for identifying complex indirect tax issues, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and strategically enhancing processes and systems to support global compliance, reduce risk, and improve operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities

• Functional ownership of the global indirect tax function, including governance, compliance oversight, process consistency, and technical issue management. Serve as the primary point of accountability for indirect tax related risk management.
• Lead U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico sales & use tax with an emphasis on process design, strategy, and risk identification. Identify complex and recurring issues
