About the Role
The Hive Careers is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Consultant to join our team on a remote contract basis and work with one of our FMCG clients. This role involves leading the assessment, design, and deployment of automation technologies to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
This is a remote-first role, but occasional on-site travel may be required during critical phases of implementation (travel expenses covered).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a remote audit of existing manufacturing systems and identify automation opportunities.
- Design and propose automation workflows across production, refrigeration, packaging, and quality assurance.
- Develop and guide deployment of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, coordinating with local teams.
- Implement IoT-based predictive maintenance systems for equipment health monitoring.
- Integrate AI-driven vision systems for automated quality control using smart cameras.
- Enable ERP and MES system integration to create a unified, intelligent production setting.
- Ensure food safety and compliance throughout the automation design and rollout.
- Provide comprehensive documentation and remote training to client teams.
- Offer ongoing virtual consultation, support, and system optimization.
