The Senior Engineer Application Operations with 5+ years’ experience plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise applications and databases within MANN+HUMMEL’s IT landscape. This position involves managing application lifecycles, leading incident resolution, and optimizing application and database environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in application operations, solid database administration skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The engineer will also be accountable for implementing robust database security practices and supporting compliance requirements. Flexibility to work in US business hours is essential to support global operations and ensure timely collaboration with cross-regional teams.
Main Tasks
- Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise applications including monitoring, incident resolution, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and business teams to ensure seamless application delivery and support.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Lead application deployments, upgrades, and patching activities.
- Maintain and optimize database environments (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Ensure database security through access control, encryption, auditing, and vulnerability management.
- Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability wherever necessary.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
