Description
The Distinguished Engineer is a senior individual contributor and recognized technical authority responsible for setting the direction of engineering excellence across the organization. This role defines the architectural vision, ensures technical quality, and shapes the long-term technology strategy. The Distinguished Engineer partners closely with executives and domain leads, mentors Principal Engineers, and provides technical leadership across multiple domains and technologies owned within the location.

Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
• Define and lead the overall technical strategy, architecture, and design for complex systems and platforms.
• Own and oversee a set of key technologies within the location, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide architecture principles.
• Drive technical excellence by establishing best practices, design standards, and governance mechanisms.
• Act as a technical mentor and coach to Principal Engineers and senior technical leaders.




• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, assessing their potential impact and applicability.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve system scalability, performance, and resilience.
• Provide deep technical expertise to solve complex architectural challenges.
• Represent the organization as a thought leader internally and externally (e.g., conferences, publications, community engagement).
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering community.

Qualifications
• 7–15 years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years in a Product/ Engineering Development or a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Hands-on experience in mentoring technical teams and leading cross-functional collaboration
• Managing cross-functional and globally distributed teams
• Lead end-to-end product delivery, ensuring value-based prioritization
