Job Purpose: The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical systems and equipment within the mine. This role ensures that all mechanical work is conducted in compliance with the Coal Mines Regulation of 2017, maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. The Mechanical Foreman coordinates with engineers, technicians, and mine management to implement mechanical projects,
troubleshoot issues, and ensure the continuous operation of mining machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Foreman - Coal Mining
Installation and Maintenance of Mechanical Systems:
Oversee the installation of mechanical systems and machinery, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
Ensure all installations are properly documented and certified as per regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all mechanical equipment and systems.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and effective resolution of mechanical problems.
