Direct tax
- Review of monthly tax returns/payments, advance tax and ITR calculations, supervising tax audit and other direct tax-related compliances
- Complete handling of assessment/appeal proceedings along with tax consultants, follow through requirements, submissions to the department, and recording of communications.
- Overseeing required compliances with respect to foreign payments
- Liaising with consultants for Transfer pricing compliances, wherever applicable
- Review of all RPT disclosures in financials during statutory audits
- Exposure to financial industry taxation - funds, AIF, family office, etc.
Indirect taxes
- Review of tax payments, GST returns, and audit report submission.
- Review of compliance status as per each state
Others
- Update and ensure that tax requirements (SOP) for each business transaction are understood and informed the transaction team of the compliance
- Developing strong internal controls and processes around tax workings and compliances in discussion with the Finance Controller/ Finance Director
- Regular test checks based on ABC analysis to ensure there are no breakdowns in the process leading to tax exposure. Ownership of statutory and internal audit processes relating to tax compliance
- Timely updates of any changes in Tax Laws affecting our business and guide people about the working of same
- Working closely with the IT team on the incorporation of various updates in accounting software, if required, to comply with relevant notifications/ rules as and when applicable
Qualification: CA
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Candidates in big four / finance companies (not bank/insurance) at the Manager level
- Overall Experience of 5 - 8 years in Direct taxation and in an organization of repute Experience Indirect taxes would be an added advantage
- Leadership skills
- Valuable Communication and ability to draft responses to queries during assessment.
- Understanding of issues and challenges in financial business would be preferred
