Description
WSP is seeking an experienced GIS Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team supporting the US Earth & Workplace (E&E;) Business Line. The GIS consultant will provide advanced expertise in geospatial analyses, environmental data management, and cartographic support for projects related to site investigation and remediation, power generation and distribution, environmental impact assessments, environmental planning and permitting, and other similar areas.
The team you will join offers an exciting diversity of projects and clients. You will lead delivery and ensure technical excellence across all phases of the project. The role will be based in either Bengaluru or Noida.
Responsibilities
- Effectively execute GIS workflows for power & energy and environmental projects, from data acquisition, digitizing, processing, analyses, QA/QC and final cartographic delivery, with minimal supervision
- Design, manage, and maintain scalable project geodatabases, including schema development, metadata standards, and long-term data stewardship.
- Produce defensible GIS analyses and presentation-quality cartographic products (maps, drawings, figures, charts, posters, etc.) for diverse audience including clients, regulators, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct constraint, sensitivity, and impact analyses for routing and siting studies, translating complex environmental data into decision ready outputs.
- Lead development of map design, scale, symbology, and data limitations to prevent misinterpretation or misuse of GIS outputs.
- Implement mobile GIS and field data collection workflows, including data validation, post-processing, and enterprise integration.
- Configure and maintain ESRI web mapping environments (e.g., ArcGIS Online and/or enterprise portal) to support project teams, including publishing layers, organizing web maps, and controlling permissions/roles.
