Key Responsibilities
1. Risk Assessment
- Evaluate property and engineering risks based on risk inspection reports, technical details, and underwriting submissions.
- Review engineering drawings, project plans, specifications, and schedules to identify exposures and mitigation measures.
- Assess frequency and severity of risks arising from natural catastrophes, mechanical failures, fire hazards, and operational factors.

2. Underwriting
- Underwrite property and engineering proposals in line with company underwriting philosophy and authority limits.
- Determine appropriate coverage terms, conditions, deductibles, and pricing based on risk quality and market dynamics.
- Maintain underwriting discipline while balancing growth and profitability objectives.

3. Market Interaction
- Liaise with brokers, intermediaries, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify underwriting requirements.
- Explain coverage structures, policy terms, and underwriting decisions clearly to stakeholders.
- Negotiate terms and conditions within approved underwriting guidelines.

Policy Management
- Ensure timely issuance of policies, endorsements, renewals, and related documentation.
- Monitor portfolio performance to ensure profitability and compliance with internal standards.
- Review and update policy wordings and documentation as required.

5. Market Research & Development
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and developments impacting property and engineering insurance.
- Support development of underwriting solutions for emerging risks and current business opportunities.
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to support portfolio growth.

6. Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with claims, risk engineering, and other internal teams for effective risk management.
- Prepare underwriting summaries, MIS, and performance reports for senior management.
- Participate in training and continuous development initiatives to enhance technical underwriting skills.
