- Code anesthesia and pain management procedures using CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II.
- Review and interpret clinical documentation such as operative reports and physician notes for accurate code assignment.
- Ensure alignment with payer-specific guidelines, Medicare policies, and federal coding regulations.
- Collaborate with internal billing and audit teams to address coding queries and optimize claim outcomes.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks as per internal SLAs.
- Stay current on industry updates, including CMS and NCCI changes relevant to the specialty.
Requirements
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or CANPC (Certified Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder), or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience* coding Anesthesia and Pain Management cases for U.S.-based clients.
- Strong understanding of ASA coding, modifiers,
time units, and interventional pain procedures.
- Familiarity with EHR and medical billing software like Athena, Epic, or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of NCCI edits, surgical package rules, and documentation standards.
