Responsibilities:
- Assume accountability for the health and improvement of the search infrastructure
- Ability to profile, analyze, and clearly identify problem areas of Java-based applications using APM tools
- Drive best practices for system design, capacity planning, and integration for search and big data solutions
- Creative thinker who can investigate multiple paths in the hunt for root cause of an urgent issue
- Lead support of business critical outages related to search, clear the path to resolution, and own the steps for prevention
- Participate in a level-3 on-call rotation in support of our 24x7 Production Solr environments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues

Qualifications:




- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
- Experience supporting a customer-facing, always-up production workplace
- 3+ Years of proven Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
- 3+ Years of proven experience with Solr index/search and Tomcat.
- Demonstrated experience with automated provisioning and configuration management using Puppet or Chef
- Demonstrated experience in support, tuning, and hardening of the Linux OS.
- Demonstrated ability to script via Shell, Python, or Perl. Java programming experience a plus.
- RHCSA certification a plus.
