About the role
We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Design and Engineering team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic setting that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
Lead or support civil detailed design for utility-scale PV projects from concept to Issue for Construction (IFC), ensuring designs are accurate, constructible, and cost-effective. Develop and refine site layouts, grading, and drainage using AutoCAD Civil 3D; evaluate tracker slope tolerances, spacing, shading/obstructions, and constructability. Perform mass-grading/cut-fill analyses and optimize earthwork balance; plan access roads, internal circulation, laydown areas, and substation/collector pads.



Execute hydrologic and stormwater analyses (flood, erosion, inundation), and propose mitigation (e.g., channels, culverts, energy dissipation, erosion control). Consolidate topographic, geotechnical, environmental, and civil datasets to drive layout iterations; run multiple optimizations passes and clearly summarize trade-offs. Coordinate closely with Geotech, Electrical, Structural, GIS, and Project Management teams to ensure integrated designs and smooth handoffs to EPC partners.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering with 2-6 years or a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Civil or related specialization with 1-3 years of relevant experience in large-scale solar, renewable, or land-development projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS); comfortable working with large site datasets (DEM/LiDAR, surfaces, survey, environmental constraints).
