We are seeking a versatile backend engineer with Python and Go expertise to support our Unified Member Platform and AI/ML services. This role involves maintaining systems that serve 500+ Member Support Associates with GenAl capabilities and comprehensive member data access.
Key Responsibilities
- AI/ML Development: Build and maintain Python-based Al services using LlamaIndex, FastAPI, and LLM integrations
- API Development: Develop high-performance Go APIs using Huma and Fx frameworks
- LLM Integration: Implement and optimize integrations with OpenAI, Google Vertex Al, and AWS Bedrock
- Data Pipeline Development: Build data pipelines using Temporal for workflow orchestration
- Vector Database Management: Implement pgVector for semantic search and RAG applications
- Microservice Architecture: Maintain event-driven microservices with Kafka integration
- Security Implementation: Implement LLM-Guard and other Al safety measures
- Testing: Write comprehensive tests using Pytest and Go testing frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Go Expertise: Experience with Go for building high-performance APIs
- Python Expertise: Strong Python v3.+ skills with FastAPI, Pydantic, and async programming Experience: 4+ years backend development with Python and/or Go
- AI/ML Experience: Hands-on experience with LLMS, RAG systems, or NLP applications
- Database Skills: PostgreSQL experience including pgVector for embeddings
- Event Systems: Kafka or similar event streaming experience
- API Design: RESTful API design and implementation Testing: Robust testing practices in Python and Go
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Llamalndex, LangChain, or similar Al frameworks
- Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM optimization
- Experience with Temporal or similar workflow engines
- Understanding of customer support systems
- Experience with data privacy and security in Al applications
