The role spans the full engineering lifecycle—from conceptual design and modelling through simulation, validation, implementation, and commissioning—ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions across multiple projects.
This position requires deep expertise in HVDC Control & Protection systems, proven leadership, and the ability to drive engineering strategy, process improvement, and consistent technical quality across multi-disciplinary, international teams. A key focus is building organisational capability, strengthening engineering processes, and unifying engineering centres worldwide around common standards and best practices. Success depends on proactive communication, robust collaboration, and fostering a global “one-team” culture.
Key responsibilities include leadership development, engineering governance, technical oversight, lessons-learned implementation,

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Oversee day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring consistent design practices, adherence to global processes, and delivery of technical solutions that meet project and tender objectives.
2.Be the owner of all aspects of Control & Protection system deployment, system Configuration, and validation, as well as all usual integration challenges of the control & protection system
3. Understanding of advanced modelling and simulation of HVDC Control & Protection systems, including:
- Electromagnetic transient studies (PSCAD, EMTP-RV)
- Control and protection system modelling (MATLAB/Simulink)
- Network conversion, modelling, tuning, and verification (PSSE, PSCAD, RSCAD)
- Full plant/system modelling with end-to-end validation across multiple platforms
