Key Responsibilities

SQL Server & Azure Database Administration

* Administer SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) in on‑prem and hybrid environments
* Manage and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL
Server on Azure VMs
* Coordinate SQL Server upgrades, patching, and version standardization
* Support production, UAT, QA, and DR environments

Azure‑First / Hybrid Operations

* Design and support hybrid SQL architectures integrating on‑prem SQL with
Azure
* Work with Azure services such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure
Backup, Azure Site Recovery
* Assist in migrating SQL workloads from on‑prem to Azure using best practices
* Optimize cost and performance of Azure SQL resources

Performance Tuning & Optimization

* Monitor and troubleshoot SQL performance issues across hybrid platforms
* Perform query tuning, index optimization, and execution plan analysis
* Analyze CPU, memory, storage, and I/O performance trends
* Implement proactive performance monitoring

Backup, DR & High Availability





* Implement and manage backup and restore strategies for on‑prem and Azure SQL
* Support Always On Availability Groups, SQL Failover Clustering, and
Azure‑based HA solutions
* Perform restore validation and disaster recovery testing
* Ensure RPO/RTO compliance for critical systems

Security & Compliance

* Manage SQL security: authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing
* Support data protection and compliance initiatives
* Handle vulnerability remediation and security hardening
* Implement best practices for Azure SQL security (firewalls, private
endpoints, RBAC)

Automation & Operational Excellence

* Automate routine DBA tasks using T‑SQL and PowerShell
* Create SQL jobs, alerts, maintenance plans, and monitoring scripts
* Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks

Collaboration & Support

* Collaborate with application, Azure, OS, storage, and network teams
* Provide L2/L3 support for SQL‑related incidents and service reque
