Roles and Responsibilities
A label machine or filling operator's job is to operate machinery, perform maintenance, and ensure the labeling and packaging process runs smoothly:

Labeling
Apply labels to finished products, cut stencils, and attach identification labels

Packaging
Fill boxes, check that packages are secure, and adjust machines for productive product flow

Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on the machines

Quality control
Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect products to ensure they meet specifications

Production line
Anticipate errors and make adjustments to prevent slowing down the production line

Safety
Ensure the machines are safe to operate and report any malfunctions or errors to a supervisor

Administrative tasks
Complete paperwork and other minor administrative tasks at the beginning and end of your shift

Teamwork
Support other machine operators to ensure no workers become fatigued or distracted
Some qualities that are helpful for a label machine or filling operator include:

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good vision
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or move items weighing 40 pounds or more
