At Stalwart Themius, we're excited to offer a fantastic prospect for an experienced Senior DBA to join our client's expanding Engineering team as an AWS Database Administrator (DBA).
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Utilizing your AWS cloud computing expertise to meet the needs of clients using cloud-native tools.
- Managing large-scale MySQL databases and sharding concepts.
- Configuring MySQL replication and writing/optimizing SQL statements.
- Developing solutions using innovative AWS database technologies.
- Conducting research on differing approaches to data storage in AWS.
- Migrating legacy on-premises databases into AWS data stores.
- Indexing, replicating, and performing disaster recovery services across multiple AWS regions.
- Monitoring system performance metrics to identify potential risks/issues.
To qualify for this position, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a MySQL Database Administrator.
- Experience in Linux Systems Administration.
- Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience working with Open Source and Linux development.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS and Aurora.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to travel as needed.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
