We are looking for a Staff Engineer who cares deeply about:
- Designing systems that scale 10x and 100x
- Failure domains and blast radius reduction
- High availability and reliability engineering
- Clean abstractions and long-term maintainability
- Architecture that enables speed, not blocks it
What You Will Do
- Lead architecture, design for high-scale systems across payments,
EDC, credit, and merchant platforms
- Design for multi-region expansion and high transaction volumes
- Establish and elevate system design review standards
- Drive platform thinking across squads
- Identify scaling bottlenecks before they hurt
- Reduce operational burden through thoughtful abstractions
- Mentor engineers and grow them
- You will work directly with engineering leadership and influence product decisions where system design matters.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years building and scaling backend distributed systems
- Deep understanding of system design fundamentals (consistency models, caching strategies, event-driven architecture, fault tolerance, data modeling at scale)
- Experience with microservices and/or modular monolith architectures
- Hands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Strong intuition for performance tuning and observability
