Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic self-starter to join our Ecology team. You’ll work on prestigious international projects, collaborate with UK teams, and contribute to ecological assessments and reporting.
Your role
- Author technical ecological reports.
- Analyse bat sound data (Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope).
- Use GIS tools (QGIS/ArcGIS) for desk studies, site scoping, protected species records, and biodiversity net gain assessments.
- Work to tight deadlines using approved methodologies.
- Collaborate with team members and manage workload independently.
- Liaise daily with UK teams and build robust working relationships.
- Support bid preparation and manage work enquiries under senior guidance.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required by process leads.
- Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
About you
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Engineering.
- 8 -10 years of experience in ecology projects (UK region preferred).
- Experience with Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope.
- Proficient in GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS).
- Familiarity with UKHab classification and Defra Metric.
- Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
- Understanding of UK/EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and focused on technical excellence.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Effective in report writing, presentations, and verbal communication.
- Quick learner, adaptable, and organized.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Works independently or in multidisciplinary teams.
- Understands time-budget-performance relationship.
- Open to feedback, career discussions, and team leadership.
- Shares knowledge and complies with Health & Safety policies.
- Experience in international projects.
- Project management (technical, financial, QA).
- Membership of CIEEM.
