Biomedical Engineer

QualificationDiploma / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering (Mandatory)
2–3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in a hospital environment
Knowledge of medical equipment, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
Experience working with hospital clinical departments will be an added advantage
Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of medical and clinical equipment across the hospital. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, equipment calibration, coordination with equipment vendors and service providers, maintenance of biomedical equipment records,



and ensuring compliance with hospital safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the configuration / installation, maintenance, servicing, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance schedules for critical and non-critical medical equipment.
Attend equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Maintain an updated inventory and asset register of all biomedical equipment.
Coordinate with OEMs, authorized service providers, and vendors for equipment servicing, AMC/CMC, repairs, and replacement of components.
Ensure proper installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of current medical equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures or potential risks.
Maintain records of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, calibration, service reports, and equipment history.
