About the Role
Karamtara Engineering Ltd is seeking an experienced and strategic Head – Learning & Development to design and drive the organisation-wide learning agenda. Based at the Corporate Office in Worli, Mumbai, the incumbent will be responsible for building capability across corporate functions and manufacturing plant locations – covering leadership development, functional and technical training, behavioural skilling, and organisation-wide culture-building interventions.
The role requires a robust understanding of the manufacturing / heavy engineering sector, adult learning principles, competency and skill-matrix design, and the ability to design and deploy learning interventions that work equally well for corporate teams and shopfloor / plant workforce.

Key Responsibilities
L&D; Strategy
Design and implement an organisation-wide Learning & Development strategy aligned with business goals, covering corporate office and manufacturing plant requirements.
Partner with business and plant leaders to identify capability gaps and build annual training calendars and budgets.




Build a long-term leadership pipeline through structured development programmes for high-potential talent.
Drive a culture of continuous learning across all levels of the organisation, from shop floor to leadership.
Leadership & Managerial Development
Design and roll out leadership development programmes for senior management, middle management, and first-time managers.
Build succession-readiness through structured assessment and development frameworks.
Partner with external institutes, business schools, and coaches for leadership interventions where required.
Functional & Technical Training
Own the design and delivery of functional and technical training programmes across engineering, manufacturing, quality, projects, and supply chain.
Work with plant and functional heads to build skill matrices and competency frameworks for critical roles.
Drive certification and upskilling programmes for plant
