The Cross Skilled Engineer is a critical technical role within GCIO's COO function to support GCIO strategic initiatives. This role provides specialised technical expertise in GCIO across domains, serving as a technical bridge between GCIO applications and Technology Infrastructure / Technology & Architecture domains. The role holder will be responsible for unblocking complex technical challenges beyond the CIO software level, intervening to resolve issues and coordinating with foundational services teams. This position requires deep technical competency across multiple technology domains including Server Operating Systems, Networking, Storage, Database, Information Security, Cloud Computing, IT Architecture, and Azure DevOps to support transformation programmes as well as technology modernization initiatives.

Responsible for understanding and implementing technical strategy and roadmap for cross-domain programmes
Responsible for ensuring adherence to strategic design principles for architecture across all applications
Consulted on strategic technology decisions across GCIO domains
Informed of broader Group technology strategy changes that may impact cross-domain programme delivery

Accountable for resolving technical blockers that impact programme timelines and business outcomes
Responsible for providing technical expertise to support business objectives and programme deliverables
Consulted on technical feasibility assessments for business requirements

Responsible for executing technical resolution and processes in accordance with Enterprise System Delivery Lifecycle (E-SDLC)
Responsible for coordinating with integration services, database teams, and central technical teams
