Platform Engineer — Observability SME (Senior Platform Engineer)
Location: Remote, India | Reports to: Director, Cloud Delivery Platform (US-based)

Role Overview
Join our global platform engineering team as our dedicated Observability Subject Matter Expert. In this role you will own the day-to-day operation, adoption, and continuous improvement of an established enterprise observability platform built on Datadog.



Working closely with North America and Europe-based architects, you will drive product team onboarding onto the shared observability standard, lead migrations from fragmented legacy tooling, enable teams to improve their observability maturity, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform as the portfolio scales.

Key Responsibilities
Observability Platform Operations: Own the ongoing configuration, health, and governance of the shared Datadog tenant — maintaining tagging standards, RBAC, agent configurations, log pipelines, monitors, and dashboards as the portfolio grows and the platform evolves.
Product Onboarding: Lead the structured onboarding of product teams onto the shared observability standard, working directly with DevOps leads to deploy agents, configure APM instrumentation, establish baseline monitors, and validate compliance with platform standards.
